Johnny D. Witt, 41, of Hettinger passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck.
Funeral Services for Johnny will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at the Hettinger Lutheran Church. Pastor Mary Peterson will officiate with burial to follow in the Hettinger Cemetery. Visitation was on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Krebsbach Funeral Home Chapel in Bowman.
Johnny Duane Witt was born on Aug. 10, 1974, in Hettinger, ND to Lyle and Ann Witt-Munro. Johnny grew up in the Lemmon, S.D., Hettinger and Lodgepole, S.D., area with two brothers and one sister, Jason Lyle Witt, Jeffrey Robert Witt and Jody Ann Witt.
Johnny attended pre-school through grade 4 in Lemmon, S.D., moving to Utah/Colorado with his family, were he completed his grade school years through 9th grade. He attended his high school years in Hettinger and completed his education in Halliday.
Johnny spent his childhood summers along with his siblings on his grandparents Robert and Leola Witt’s, family farm, attending the Lodgepole Holland Center Lutheran Summer Bible camp. Johnny loved his grandparents deeply and the Witt family farm.
Johnny was blessed with five children, Kaleb John Witt, Mariah Witt, Ty (Witt) Knutson, Raeanne Witt and Chelsey Witt. Johnny’s children were and forever will be, the loves of his life. They were his world.
Johnny worked as an owner/operator of his trucking business, John Witt Trucking, in the early 2000’s. Johnny sold his trucking business and worked at farming and ranching. Johnny and his family lived on the Witt family farm up until 2012, when he and his family spent the remainder of his life living in Hettinger.
Johnny passed away on July 26, 2016, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Johnny is survived by his mother, Ann Witt-Munro and stepfather Greg Munro, Hettinger; two sons, Kaleb John Witt (Shelby Bakken), Killdeer, and Ty (Witt) Knutson, Bismarck; three daughters, Mariah Witt, Dickinson, Raeanne Witt, Hettinger, and Chelsey Witt, Hettinger; one grandchild, Kason Witt- Moulten, Dickinson; two brothers, Jason Lyle Witt (Jill Quintanilla), Bowman and Jeffrey Robert Witt (Jeanne Paulson), Lemmon, S.D.; one sister, Jody Ann Witt (Garret Wendte), Williston; three uncles, Tom Witt, Hazel, S.D., Dan Witt, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Jerry Witt, Lemmon, S.D.; one aunt, Joyce Bauman, Rock Springs, Wyo.; nephews, Payton Witt, Bowbells and Kahle Witt, Bowman; nieces, Michaela Erin Witt, Rapid City, S.D., Deidra Jung and Brailee, Dickinson, Jade Witt, Lemmon, S.D., Alyssa Witt, Williston, Jenaya Wilmot Lockrem, Lemmon, S.D., Alexis Witt, Lemmon, S.D., and Hailey Witt, Neb. Johnny is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Aaron Witt; his father, Lyle Duane Witt; his grandfathers, Robert Witt and Aaron McCool; one grandmother, Christene Boyd Beliew; three uncles, Jim Witt, Mike Witt and Darrell McCool.
Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangments.
