
Donna Rae Hendrickson, 73, of Bismarck, died Aug. 25, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial was held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29 at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Donna was born in Bowman on Jan. 27, 1943 to Wilmar and Georgine (Thompson) Sarsland. She was raised in Ludlow, S.D., and attended Lanesboro School. She married Gerald Hendrickson on Feb. 19, 1960 in Bowman. Together they lived in Bowman, Ludlow, and Hettinger. In 1967 they moved to Rhame, where they lived until 1990 when they moved to Gillette, Wyo. In 1994 they moved to Bismarck where they resided until her death.
Donna devoted her life to her family. She was blessed with four grandsons and one granddaughter. Her grandkids were the joy of her life.
Donna enjoyed her trips to the casinos. She also enjoyed the music of Charlie Pride and attended many of his concerts. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks over the years as well as souvenir spoons, coins and a wide range of nick-knacks.
Donna is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gerald, Bismarck; her son Duane, (Marlys) Parker, Colo., her daughter Linda (Terry) Rants, Bismarck; her grandsons, Joshua, Jayden and Jamison Rants and Ryan Hendrickson and her granddaughter Erin Hendrickson; two brothers Randy (Kay) and Bill Sarsland; two sisters, Sandy (Mike) Ness, Scranton and Renee (Fred) Burke, Bowman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and two brothers.
