Dear Editor,
I want to thank the Bowman County Pioneer for covering the Johnson case openly, honestly, and professionally even if the details are a shock to the community. A journalist’s highest duty is to tell the truth even if that truth is unpleasant. Reporting on an unquestionable tragedy like the Johnson case is truth at the worst time — it’s a truth told when we want nothing more than to forget and move on.
This isn’t the first murder case the Pioneer has covered and it won’t be the last, but hopefully it’s the last one the Pioneer has to cover for a very long time. Keep fighting the good fight.
