The Bowman Community Chorus will be starting rehearsals at 7:45 p.m. Oct. 12 in the Bowman County High School Music Room.

This year’s concert will mark the 58th year of performing during the Christmas season. The first half of the concert will feature the cantata, “Night of the Father’s Love,” by Pepper Choplin, which is a favorite from several years ago.

It features many new, unique songs and some very nice arrangements of traditional carols. The concert is scheduled for Dec. 4 at Bowman Lutheran Church with two concerts at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The second half of the concert will be made up of several new arrangements and some favorites from the past years’ concerts. The Saxy Brass will again be performing the prelude and at intermission and also accompanying the chorus with one number. A youth choir will be featured in one song entitled, “Look Who Just Checked In,” and will be featured in the concert closer, “Let There Be Peace On Earth,” which the chorus has closed many concerts with in years past.

The chorus is made up of many veteran singers from Bowman, Scranton, Rhame and Buffalo and the surrounding area and usually numbers over 50 members. New members are always welcome and young singers from the area schools are encouraged to participate to help start the Christmas season for the entire area. Come join the chorus and enjoy great Christmas music and help make this year’s concert a memorable one.
