N.D. candidate debates to broadcast statewide on Prairie Public

AARP North Dakota is sponsoring candidate debates beginning Oct. 7 on Prairie Public.

The debates feature candidates for the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Governor, Insurance Commissioner, and Public Service Commissioner.

Here is the schedule for when the debates will first broadcast on Prairie Public’s television network. All times are Central.

· The U.S. House debate among Kevin Cramer, Chase Iron Eyes and Jack Seaman will be broadcast for the first time on television at 8 p.m. Oct. 7, and rebroadcast at 2 a.m. Oct. 9 and 1 p.m. Nov. 6.

· The Insurance Commissioner debate among Nick Bata, Ruth Buffalo and Jon Godfread will be broadcast for the first time on television at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 7, and rebroadcast at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 9 and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 6.

· The gubernatorial debate among Doug Burgum, Marvin Nelson and Marty Riske will be broadcast for the first time on television at 8 p.m. Oct. 12, and rebroadcast at 2 a.m. Oct. 14 and 2 p.m. Nov. 6.

· The Public Service Commission debate among Julie Fedorchak, Marlo Hunte-Beaubrun and Tom Skadelandseat will be broadcast for the first time on television at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 12, and rebroadcast at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 14 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 6.

· The U.S. Senate debate among Eliot Glassheim, John Hoeven, and Robert Marquette will be broadcast for the first time on television at 8 p.m. Oct. 28, and rebroadcast at 2 a.m. Oct. 30 and 3 p.m. Nov. 6.

All of the debates will be rebroadcast back-to-back on television beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6. They will also be available for online viewing at prairiepublic.org after the initial televised broadcast.

The debates will also broadcast on Prairie Public’s radio network:

· Insurance Commissioner: 6:30 p.m. CT Sept. 27

· Public Service Commission: 6:30 p.m. CT Sept. 29

· N.D. U.S. House: 6:30 p.m. CT Oct. 5

· N.D. Governor: 6:30 p.m. CT Oct. 10

· MN 7th District House: 6:30 p.m. CT Oct. 12

· N.D. U.S. Senate: 6:30 p.m. CT Oct. 13
