
The Bowman County FFA members competed in the FFA District Leadership Contest on Sept. 28 at the Dickinson State University Biesot Activity Center along with other schools from Southwestern North Dakota. Bowman County FFA Chapter received the Chapter of the Day which is highest achievement in the district.
The Parliamentary Procedure team received a Gold award and took 3rd place. The team had to complete opening and closing FFA ceremonies and perform two problem sets consisting of 10 parliamentary procedures in less than ten minutes and thirty seconds.
The Bowman County FFA officer team is advised by Mrs. Mary Fischer. Chapter officers are as follows; Kylee Hendrickson(President-Gold), Beau Jeffers (Vice President-Gold), Lindsey Dix (Sentinel-Gold), Aiden Halleen (Secretary-Gold), Bryan Knopp (Reporter-Silver), Michaela Fischer (Treasurer-Gold), and Shaye Lardy (Parliamentarian), Cassidy Walby (Historian) and Skylar Ruggles (Student Advisor). Officer of the day is given to the officer with the highest points for the day. Bowman County officers of the day was Aiden Halleen.
The quiz team placed Silver in the quiz event. Quiz team members were Meggie Fischer, Keanna Halleen, Ethan Fischer, Amber Heick and Dillon Eagon
The Greenhand (Freshmen) received second place Gold in the Quiz contest with Mitch Stuber receiving High Individual for the day and Jaxson Fischer earning second place. The Greenhand members also received first place and gold in the Greenhand Parliamentary Procedure contest. Members were: Mitch Stuber, Tristen Ridl, Andrew Narum, Jacob Hendrickson, Miracle Frey, Joshua Buchholz, Jaxson Fischer, Seth Folske, Claira Kees and Kalorada Eagon.
Other events members participated in were the Prepared Public Speaking where Michaela Fischer received a Silver and Tasha Pond received Silver in the Demonstration event
Other contests that will be advancing to State competition in June at NDSU are: Extemporaneous public speaking event with Emily Belland receiving Gold first place, Job Interview with Aiden Halleen receiving Gold and first place and Mitch Stuber with receiving Gold and first place in the Creed event.
Chloe Janovsky, Ethan Fischer and Seth Folske represented the Bowman Chapter in the Talent event.
