Dakota Prairie Helping Hands (DPHH) is having its second annual Radio-thon from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 29 on KPOK, 1340 AM.
DPHH is a non-profit organization of volunteers that help the people in the community stay in their homes longer.
Some of the services provided include visitation, running errands, short term light housekeeping, respite care and lending out medical equipment. DPHH also offers education on End of Life issues, Alzheimer’s, grief management, as well as grief support groups.
The service area covers all of Bowman, Adams and Perkins counties. Volunteers are available throughout the area. Equipment is located in Bowman, Hettinger and Lemmon with the main office located in Hettinger.
All services are free of charge but donations are always welcome. The support of these services comes from donations, memorials and grants, but the largest source is from the Radio-thon each year. DPHH is a 501c3 organization so all donations are tax deductible.
