The Bowman Lions Oktoberfest Benefit for Leroy Hansen was a great success.
Celebrity Chef, Lion Linda Narum, spearheaded the menu for the German meal with the help of other Lions members and a host of area volunteers. It took a lot of time to prepare the special meal, but the results were definitely worth it. On the menu was some awesome Jager Schnitzel (seasoned pork) Knoephla, kraut and dumplings, borscht, German potato salad, cheese buttons, kuchen and much much more. Along with the meal was a live and silent auction from items donated by the community. Lane and Anne Dingfelder, along with Lion Roger Walter, provided the special music for this event and Lion Paul Brooks was the auctioneer. A big thanks goes out to all who came and helped make this a successful event.
A big thank you to the Bowman County Football team from the Bowman Lions.
When Bowman Lions President Sandy Phelps asked her son Ben to see if he could get a few friends from the football team to show up and help set up tables for the Oktoberfest Medical benefit for Leroy Hansen at the 4 Seasons Pavillion, she never imagined that the whole team would show up along with 2 of the coaches. The team jumped right in and had the job done in about 20 minutes! “These are an awesome bunch of young men and should be commended for their service,” said Phelps.
