This week’s scoreboard: Girls stand at 8-1 in region play

GIRLS BASKETBALL:

-Bowman Co. vs. Glen Ullin-Hebron, 49-44

The Lady Bulldogs overcame Glen Ullin-Hebron on Feb. 4 with a 49-44 win. That positioned the Bowman County girls at a 14 wins, four losses overall record; and a eight wins, one loss record for the region.

Bowman County scored 12 points in the first quarter, 11 points in the second, and 13 points in both the third and fourth quarters during the away game.

Scoring the most points for the Bulldogs was Meggie Fischer with 17. Mikayla Bartholomay netted 14 points, Cassidy Walby had six points, Ellie Stafford took six points and Maury Burke scored four points.

-Bowman Co. vs. Heart River, 42-38

The Bowman County Girls Varsity Basketball team toppled Heart River, 42-38, on Feb. 2 on the home court.

Bowman County started out slow with six points in the first quarter and five in the second but came back with 12 points in the third and 19 in the fourth quarter.

Meggie Fischer scored the most points of the night with 17 nets, Mikayla Bartholomay scored nine points, Ellie Stafford amassed six points, Abi Bartholomay got three and Cassidy Walby scored two points.

BOYS BASKETBALL:

- Bowman Co. vs. Richardton-Taylor, 54-41

The Bowman County Boys Varsity Basketball team travelled to Richardton Feb. 3 and took home a strong defeat.

The Bowman County boys took a 54-41 win over Richardton-Taylor.
