Bowman County Development Corporation (BCDC) held their annual meeting on Feb. 5 at the Bowman Golf Course.
Key projects were highlighted this year including Crossroads Business Park, Mainspace, Fusion, and the restaurant industry. Nearly 70 people from across North Dakota gathered at the meeting in which the community, local businesses, and projects were showcased.
The evening started with BCDC’s business meeting in which the results of their board election were announced. Incumbents, Kevin Bucholz and Scott Hardy, were reelected to serve another three-year term.
For the second year BCDC showcased 2019 in a video format. A special highlight of this video was interviews with businesses assisted by BCDC in 2019. These included TJ Honeyman owner of Next Door Pizza Too, Drew and Nichole Henderson owners of Windy’s, and Josh Buchmann owner of Bowman Laundromat. The video also included interviews from BCDC staff, the board of directors, and users of Mainspace.
Teran Doerr, BCDC Executive Director, fielded questions on key projects, budget questions, and more.
The evening finished with Keynote Matthew Dahan, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Technology at Denbury Resources. Dahan shared Denbury Resource’s process and what to expect with the new pipeline.
Also released that evening where BCDC’s key focuses for 2020. These include completing a strategic plan, continuing to provide quality education through Mainspace, completing a restaurant feasibility study, actively marketing Crossroads Business Park, completing a business challenge, and hosting the first Marketplace for Kids. Along with their video showcase was a 2019 Annual Report that highlighted economic development, tourism, and business in the area. Annual Reports are available at BCDC’s office.
