Pi left the world of mathematics March 12.

It appeared in the world of cooking in the middle of the Bowman County Regional Library as a long table displayed more than a dozen homemade pies in front of the library desk at a time.

As one disappeared onto smaller plates, another quickly replaced it.

There were a wide variety of pies for people to choose from. All it took was making a free will donation to sample some of the tasty choices.

There were lemon meringue, strawberry rhubarb, key lime... along with gluten free pumpkin and strawberry.

There were pecan pies, chocolate and even some coconut pies.

It started at noon and both the parking outside the library and the room inside soon started to fill up for samples of pie on the library’s “Pi Day.”
